Planting a restaurant's summer terrace

Restaurant guests increasingly choose a table on the terrace — and greenery is exactly what makes a terrace welcoming, cool and distinctive. We helped one restaurant turn its summer terrace into a genuine green oasis.

The challenge

To create shade, privacy and a pleasant atmosphere within a confined space — using plants that are easy to look after.

What we did

• Installed planters with ornamental plants and grasses
• Planted climbers and formed green screens for privacy
• Added potted greenery for shade and atmosphere
• Selected plants that tolerate sun and are simple to maintain
• Drew up a plan for regular care throughout the season

The result

The terrace gained a green, welcoming atmosphere that draws guests in and noticeably extends the outdoor seating season.
