Cookie policy
How and when Verden uses cookies, and how to change your choice.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. They let a site remember something about your visit — for example, that you have already answered the question about cookies.
Which cookies we use
Verden uses no cookies that are necessary for the site to work. The site functions completely even if you refuse all of them.
The only cookies we set are analytics cookies, and only after you have explicitly accepted them. Until that moment, nothing is written.
We do not use advertising cookies and do not ask for consent to them.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from. We use the data only in aggregate — we make no attempt to identify individual visitors.
Analytics loads with every consent signal set to denied by default, so no cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device until you press “Accept”. Google does still receive a basic, cookieless measurement signal from that first page load — the address of the page, your browser and device details, and your IP address. Accepting adds the cookies that let us tell a returning visit from a new one.
Google Maps
The contact page shows a map served by Google. The map sets cookies the moment it loads, so we do not load it up front — a panel with a button stands in its place, and the map appears only when you ask for it or when you accept cookies.
Changing your choice
Your choice is remembered for twelve months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time using the “Cookies” button in the footer of every page.
You can also delete cookies yourself through your browser's privacy settings.
Cookies set after you accept

The consent record
Your answer is stored locally in your browser under the key “verden:consent”. It is not a cookie and is never transmitted — it exists only so we do not ask again on every visit.
