Grounds maintenance for a large hotel complex
Large hotel complexes share one requirement — the grounds have to look immaculate every day of the year, because they are every guest's first impression. The Verden team took on the complete landscape maintenance of one such complex and turned it into a job that runs without a single visible lapse.
The challenge
Several thousand square metres of lawn, long hedges, flower beds around the pool and the approaches, and an irrigation system that has to work faultlessly — all of it with guests present throughout. The work had to be quiet, quick and all but invisible to visitors.
What we did
We drew up an annual maintenance plan and a schedule of works fitted to the rhythm of the hotel — most of the work is done in the early morning, before guests wake.
- Regular mowing and precise edging of all grassed areas
- Shaping and trimming hedges and ornamental shrubs
- Seasonal planting and care of the flower displays around the pool and entrances
- Feeding, aeration and treatments against weeds and disease
- Checking and adjusting the automatic irrigation system
The result
Throughout the season the complex had immaculately kept grounds, with no interruption to hotel operations and not a single complaint from guests. Instead of worrying about dozens of small jobs, management gained one reliable partner.
